A EU DEFENCE TO PROTECT ITS CITIZENS

European Citizens' initiative for a European Defence

Against the growing global instability, against the changing geopolitical orientation of the US administration, against the inability to take effective action to resolve conflicts, from the invasion of Ukraine to the war in Gaza, which undermine Europe's stability and security, ‘Europeans must finally take responsibility for their own security’. This is the appeal launched to all European citizens, an appeal for a common European defence that all of you are invited to sign up.

CesUE as fondamental part of the communication and dissemination of the items of European integration and global governance along the last years, has realized various initiatives involving civil society as a whole.

Among the others:

EUNEWS - GROSSETO, 13 APRIL, TEATRO MODERNO

EUNEWS Locandina GrossetoThe conclusive event of the project "EUNews - How Europe is described?" took place at the Teatro Moderno in Grosseto, on 13 April, from 10:00 to 13:00 a.m.

Finally, the musical recital “Europe: what a Passion! The tale of a stormy love affair” came back to Tuscany after has becoming an artistic project widespread throughout all Europe in original linguistic versions written by Daniela Martinelli and Francesco Pigozzo and played by Paolo Barillari, Francesco Pigozzo, Michela Ciusani and Davide Magnabosco.

All the high school students in the Grosseto area, so as normal people attended the live show and participated the debate, that follow the show, on the main current European issues, in a dialogic and never seen new way.

Free entrance, booking at: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

"Europe: what a Passion!" can't be described without focusing on its extraordinary lead singer: Paolo Barillari, a unique performer in the Italian musical theater, capable of spacing from Portuguese to Polish, from Romanian to German (beyond, of course, Italian, English, French, Spanish...) and giving vibrant performances of pop, rock, melodic or disco songs from Marlene Dietrich to the O-Zone or from Luigi Tenco to Freddie Mercury.

But who is Paolo Barillari outside the scenes of "Europe: what a Passion!"?

Here are some of the roles he performed in italian Musicals and theatre shows:

Pietro Bernardone

BRIT in We Will Rock You

Il Corsaro Nero in Pirates

Catone ne La Divina Commedia

Il Duca Dangering in Georgie il musical

L’Imperatore Altoum ne La Regina di Ghiaccio

L’Individuo in Come Va il Mondo?

But Paolo is also author, composer and songwriter.

A curiosity: he is one of the authors of the official song of the Inter Footbal Club, "Pazza Inter". He also wrote many songs of the Italian Musicals "Rapunzel" and "La regina di Ghiaccio Turandot" where he also plays prominent roles under the direction of Maurizio Colombi.

Starting from Autumn 2018 Paolo will also interpret one of the leading roles in “We Will Rock You – The Musical” by The Queen and Ben Elton.

But the most important inspiration of Paolo Barillari's work as an author and performer has to be searched elsewhere: Giorgio Gaber, Enzo Jannacci, Fabrizio De André and other great Italian songwriters of the twentieth century who dedicated their whole life to unite artistic creativity and civil engagement.

Paolo plays beautiful tributes to those great artists as “La parola al Signor G.” (on stage from 2004), and “Grazie Maestro” (on stage from 2016, with the original music band of Enzo Jannacci).

This is not just a mere tribute, but a font of inspiration that has led him to write a large number of songs - including Sara Spara one of the songs of "Europe: what a Passion!" - and the musical Diglielo a Tutti! (2015) that he also directed.

On 2014 he has been one of the eight winners of “Area Sanremo”, one of the most important Italian contests for singers and songwriters.

Among all these activities, Paolo never forgets (when the schedule of shows allows him) to give himself to his singing students, trying to transmit them, along with his technical skills, his great passion for music and theater.

- European Parliament Ambassador School -

Istituto Professionale Regionale Alberghiero - Chatillon

IPSEOA "Carlo Porta" - Milano

IISS "Andrea Mantegna" - Brescia

IPSSAR "Orio Vergani" - Polo Scolastico Agroalimentare Estense - Ferrara

IPSSAR di Assisi - Assisi

IPSEOA "Sandro Pertini" - Brindisi

IPSAAR "Francesco Paolo Cascino" - Palermo
